An initial project to derive a Trust’s entire information specification from mapping processes and inferred information flows led to a successful procurement and implementation of a Trust-wide PAS / clinical system.
With mapping adopted as an official County-wide standard prerequisite for approving IT investment, mapping was extended into GP services, Mental Health and several Acute services, including support for the ‘Action-On’ initiatives in specialties with long waiting times.
The medmosaic Mapping Services were applied by Social Services for Adult and Children Services and, with Housing, to the ‘Supporting People’ initiative.
With significant levels of skills transferred, medmosaic
Mapping Services were used to support the implementation of Single
Assessment Process (SAP), including the (pre-NPfIT) derivation of a
Business Case for IT support.

Medical Mosaic have been mapping processes and helping redesign in
healthcare and social care for over ten years. Our work has been used
to help plan and implement major changes to services and also to
underpin large IT procurements and implementations and our methods have
been adopted in implementation of the English Connecting for Health/National
Programme for IT.
