1. Pathology is beset by many challenges to become more efficient. But pathologists are concerned that the quality of their services is maintained, and fear that an inadequately informed drive for efficiency could adversely impact diagnostic service quality. The attached Paper was commissioned by the President of the Royal College of Pathology (RCPath), and sets out the model by which a good Pathology service will add clinical value.

Integrating care is of the utmost importance, in achieving safe AND economic care. The Health-Social care interface is one major example, and a notoriously difficult one. Working with fellow-Member companies of Intellect, Medical Mosaic was pleased to have facilitated this Paper. The report was submitted to government ministers and senior officials in DH.
