Steve Box

Steve is a health informatics graduate and a PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Steve redeveloped Medical Mosaic's process modelling toolset to allow us to model highly precise resource requirements of workforce by grade and cost.

In recent assignments Steve has project managed several tough information collection and analysis requirements, including regional pathology baseline development.  He is currently engaged on a Trust's large Quality and Cost Improvement programme, where he has implemented effective monitoring and reporting processes, that give senior managers clarity through the metrics of departmental performance, combined with the 'soft' issues of project culture.  In other assignments, he has developed information governance policy and compliance, and has also demonstrated national level strength in project management support of Department of Health policy development.

Steve's informatics approach to health and medical issues helps him to advise on the role of technology as an enabler of change. He has a strong understanding of both theory and practical issues, for example, in use of SNOMED, implementing PACS and knowledge management systems, with essays and presentations in radiology and pathology as prime examples.

Steve completed a project around pathology laboratory test catalogues and involved designing, buildingand evaluating decision support in the process of clinical requesting of tests. The approach included client evaluation of the solution with lead pathologists and IT staff in Leeds and Harrogate hospitals.
